Heat storage media

The main application for ceramic honeycomb heat media is regenerative afterburning – also known as regenerative thermal oxidation (RTO). RTO units are typically used by the pharmaceutical, chemical, paint, paper, wood processing, electronics and printed circuit board industries.


 Ceramic heat storage media are used for heat recovery. Typical applications are thermal exhaust gas cleaning units that depend on regenerative afterburning, thermal regenerators for process gases, and renewable power generation. 

The main advantage of structured packing as compared to conventional random packing technology is the combination of maximum heat recovery and low pressure loss. The straight-through flow prevents dust build-up and damage from aggressive chemicals. Easy operation, and very low operating and maintenance costs make honeycomb heat storage beds a highly reliable and affordable solution.
